Intensify and broaden charitable projects: we plan to materially support individual persons, families or institutions, establish co-operatives and workshops that woul ideally be able to yield incomes, and start facilities which would provide free education. Realize all these and other tasks in the most ethical manner possible.

Collection of used clothing and toys for Sri Lanka - Discovery Bay, April 5, 2005
S. O. S. L a n k a A c t i o n is a Hong Kong-registered charity organisation. Its purpose and work is to alleviate the plight of the poor and destitute in Sri Lanka's needy in the most direct way, by way of sending used items such as clothes, shoes, household goods, educational material, tools, sewing machines (new and second-hand) and other items essential to generate livelihoods, or through financial support.
The Tsunami disaster of late 2004 put many charities under enormous pressure. S.O.S. LANKA ACTION too was inundated with requests for help. And despite the rather small and flucutuating sized of our team, we managed to do a few projects.
The fun is on again! After a hugely successful event last year S.O.S. LANKA ACTION will again organize a charity dinner dance, to be held at the D.B.I.S. Hall - of course sporting the famously-sumptous, original Sri Lankan dishes!
Pursuant to an urgent request put to us by the school due to extensive Tsunami-related damages, S.O.S. LANKA ACTION has now supplied and installed a Public Announcement system, consisting of one amplifier, two speaker horns, one driver, several microphones and other related components. Please also refer to the fotos displayed under "Events/Projects".
S.O.S. LANKA ACTION welcomes all and any donations of used books for later sale at the DB Flea Market events. We battle to rais funds for our various projects, especially the tsunami relief efforts which absorb enormous amount of money. Please approach our Charity Co-ordinators about your book donations.
